What Happens Next
Now that you have received your 2008-09 award packet, further steps may be required. These steps may or may not apply to you and your family. Please keep in mind, if these steps are required, you will be notified.
Stafford Loans
The Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) is not enclosed in this packet. Once you have accepted the Stafford loan on the award letter, you must complete the following two (2) steps before the loan funds will post to your account.
Step 1: After July 1, 2008, we will send your lender your Stafford loan request. As a result of that, your lender/lender's servicer will communicate with you regarding completing a Stafford Loan MPN. Your loan funds will not be released to UDM until you have completed an MPN for UDM.

Step 2: After July 1, 2008, you should complete the online Stafford Loan Entrance Counseling at http://mapping-your-future.org. Click on the Online Student Loan Counseling icon; click on the Stafford Entrance Counseling icon; complete the steps and print the confirmation page for your records.
