Course Description:

This course is based on writings from the manifesto by Paul Miller, aka DJ Spooky. Examining design as a process, students base digital projects on both theoretical readings as well as design exercises - using specific theories of technology and its influence both on the self and culture as the Point of Departure. The course begins with making flipbooks as a digital segue between the still frame and the 'motion picture'. This project leads into creating digital videos that explore concepts ranging from the 'samizdat' to the 'mix' as the paradigm.
