What is UDM?
Have you ever deeply pondered the work we all engage in at University of Detroit Mercy? Just what is a university, really? And what does it mean for us to say that UDM is Catholic, Jesuit/Mercy and urban?
For guidance on these questions, you can now access recordings from the UDM Mission & Identity Retreat, led by John Staudenmaier, S.J., assistant to the president for Mission & Identity. Go to the Retreat UDMcast page. The recordings from the March 21 retreat are online in video and audio formats. They are:
- "Where are we?: Introduction to the retreat" (11 minutes)
- "The noun: UDM is a university" (25 minutes)
- "UDM's core adjectives: Catholic, Jesuit/Mercy and urban" (37 minutes)
Attendees of the retreat have reported that they come away with a better understanding of the mission of UDM, and a stronger connection to that mission. See for yourself. Make some time to watch the videos, or download the audio to your favorite listening device. See the Retreat UDMcasts.
