Celebration for Dean Margaret Auer, Aug. 25
A celebration will be held in honor of Margaret E. Auer, dean of University Libraries/Instructional Design Studio, to celebrate her 30-year anniversary as dean/director of the Libraries, her 50-year anniversary as an employee of the University, and her birthday.

UDM Architecture exam rates best in state
UDM Architecture students again achieved the best pass rates in the state on the Architect Registration Examination for 2010. UDM's overall 2010 pass rates on the exam exceeded UDM results on the 2009 exam, remain above the national average, and remain better than any Michigan university.
MATM program goes online
In the College of Engineering & Science, the Master's Program in Mathematics Education (MATM) is now available to students entirely online. The MATM degree is a 30 credit-hour program, designed for graduate students interested in teaching mathematics or computer science at the K-12 level. For more information, see the MATM site.
Titan Experience at Woodward Dream Cruise
UDM's Detroit Titans were in the middle of the recent Woodward Dream Cruise event, with an interactive "Detroit Titan Experience" exhibition right on Woodward Avenue. Visitors to the attraction were able to test their sports skills and meet UDM coaches and student-athletes during the Cruise. Check out pictures from the event in the Detroit Titans photo gallery.
Financial literacy bus on campus, Sept. 1
Thursday, Sept. 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., UDM's McNichols Campus will host the Fifth Third Bank "eBus," a customized bus set up to allow people from the community to visit and learn about money management, budgeting, foreclosure prevention and related issues from bank and community organization representatives. You can also view your credit report on the bus. There will be give-aways and refreshments as well, including a hot dog lunch at noon. Professor of Law Larry Dubin was quoted in the Detroit Free Press article, "Detroit criminal defense lawyer could face suspension after board rules he revealed client's secrets," published Aug. 19.
During the annual meeting of the National Association of College and University Business Officers, held July 9-12 in Tampa, Fla., UDM President Antoine M. Garibaldi participated in a service project, helping to refurbish a middle school in a disadvantaged area of Tampa, which will be the first public girls' academy in the county.
