Art McGovern, S.J. to be remembered, May 23
Rev. Arthur F. McGovern, S.J., was an inspirational presence and a visionary leader for more than 30 years at the University. He was a professor of philosophy, a friend and a colleague. To honor Fr. McGovern on the 10-year anniversary of his passing, he will be remembered at a special noon mass in the St. Ignatius Chapel in the Commerce & Finance Building on Sunday, May 23, followed by a cook-out in the Lansing-Reilly Hall courtyard. CIS student wins competition award
Computer & Information Systems/Information Assurance student Carolyn Lee accepted an award of a new laptop, printer and software from the Michigan Council of Women in Technology (MCWT), during their annual Partner and Scholarship Recognition Reception, May 5. With support from Assistant CIS Professor Rita Barrios, Lee participated in the 2010 MCWT scholarship competition that received more than 500 applications.

Livernois repaving project
The City of Detroit has implemented a repaving project on southbound Livernois Avenue from Fenkel to Six Mile Road. Please allow additional travel time along this route to the McNichols Campus, including for Commencement ceremonies on May 15 and 16.
Cafe a la Carte open during summer
Cafe a la Carte will be open for the Summer 1 Term in the McNichols Library lobby. Stop by for a salad, sandwich, snack or cup of coffee. Hours of operation will be Monday-Friday, 4-6 p.m.
