Nominate staff and administrators for awards
Once again this year, UDM will present three Commitment to Excellence Awards to outstanding staff and administrative employees. Nominations are being accepted now through 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2.
The awards are given to full-time UDM employees who are deeply committed to UDM's mission and the goals of their college, school or department. For details and the nomination form, see the Commitment to Excellence Award web page.
Colleges to induct members into Halls of Honor
This month, the Colleges of Business Administration and Liberal Arts & Education will induct members into their respective Halls of Honor. The Business Administration event will take place Sunday, Oct. 11, and the Liberal Arts & Education event, Sunday, Oct. 18.
On each date, the event will begin with a 10:30 a.m. Mass in the St. Ignatius Chapel in the Commerce & Finance Building, followed by an induction ceremony and luncheon at 12:30 p.m. at the Detroit Golf Club. Titan Lounge improved
The lower level of the Student Center received a major facelift recently, with upgrades to the student lounge and game area. The improvements include a new 52" flat-screen TV, which was the Senior Class Gift from the Class of 2009.

Fall marketing campaign under way
UDM's integrated marketing campaign for fall is under way with radio, print and TV advertising, as well as other promotional initiatives. Five billboards promoting UDM are currently located along major highways and thoroughfares. For a complete schedule of the fall campaign, visit the Marketing Plan page.

Stephen Vogel, dean of the School of Architecture, was quoted in the Sept. 25 Detroit News article, "Spending habits put Main Street at risk." Vogel has lectured nationally and internationally on urban redevelopment and the phenomenon of shrinking cities.
