New UDMcasts online
Six new audio and video UDMcasts are available online. They include addresses by Ford CEO Alan Mulally, sociologist Robert Bellah, alumnus Michael J. Brenner '67, as well as video clips for the University's Corktown Campus dedication and the School of Law Project SALUTE.

PTV volunteers sought
The Freshman Orientation Team is asking for faculty and staff volunteers for the Prologues, Transitions and Viewpoints (PTV) program. Consider volunteering for one of the three-day PTV trips, Aug. 24-26 or Aug. 27-30.

Law school partners with Mexican university
Today, The UDM School of Law and the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey will hold the official signing ceremony for the launch of the North American Lawyer Multiple Degree Program.
The new, unique program enables students to earn law degrees in three countries — the U.S., Mexico, and Canada — with courses taught in English and Spanish. For more, see the news release on Hispanic PR Wire.

Professor of Religious Studies Gloria Albrecht presented her paper, "A marriage proposal: uniting economic human rights with policies that value families," as an invited speaker at Fordham University's Center for Ethics Education conference, "Pulpit Politics: Gender, Religion and Social Justice in 2008," April 22.
R. Gerard Albright, S.J., professor of Biology, was named 2008 Honorary Alumnus of the Year by the School of Dentistry at its 2008 Alumni Recognition event, April 19. The honor is based in part on Fr. Albright's dedication to the integrated development of his UDM students over the past 48 years and on his role as a mentor to other UDM faculty.
Professor of Sociology & Criminal Justice Daniel Kennedy and Professor of Computer & Information Services Daniel Shoemaker co-wrote the book chapter, "Criminal Profiling and Cyber Criminal Investigations," in Crimes of the Internet, published by Prentice-Hall.
Suzanne Mellon, dean of the College of Health Professions, has been awarded a grant from the Susan G. Komen "Detroit Race for the Cure" organization to extend her work into underserved populations including Latina, African-American and Arab-American populations. The title of the grant is "Hereditary breast cancer: expanding education, access, and follow-up to underserved women at risk."
The University radio station, CST Radio, is proud to have its News Director China Sellers selected by the Michigan Association of Educational Broadcasters (MAEB) for its highest honor, the Gold Award, for Outstanding College Radio Newscast. Sellers, a Communication Studies student, will receive the award at the annual MAEB awards ceremony, in Southfield, April 29.
