Ford Motor Company IT experts visit CIS classroom
On
Tuesday, June 14, Mark J. Duhaime, director of Information Technology
Security and Controls at Ford Motor Company, and Scott Roundy, director
of IT Security Systems and Executive Support at Ford Motor Company, spoke
to Associate Professor Michael Witkowski’s Computer Information
Security (CIS) course. Duhaime is responsible for the security and control
of the global Ford computing environment, while Roundy is responsible
for global information security standards and practices.

UDM professors featured in film addressing spirituality
and the meaning of life
UDM Professor of Business Administration Michael Whitty and Associate
Professor of Physics Prasad Venugopal are featured in a new film about
the meaning of life and how spirituality exists in our diverse world,
mirroring UDM’s mission.
The documentary movie, "ONE," features interviews with many local and national leaders including well-known spiritual leaders and authors such as Deepak Chopra, Father Thomas Keating and Robert Thurman.
Students in Whitty's Global Management course will view "ONE" this Saturday, June 25 at 10 a.m. in room 213 of the Commerce and Finance building. The screening is open to all UDM faculty and students.

in the All-Star Super Makeover this Saturday
On Saturday, June 25, the All-Star Super Makeover will help prepare Detroit
for the 2005 MLB All-Star Game. The first 1,000 pre-registered volunteers
who show up to the event will receive two free tickets to an upcoming

Gary Lichtman, director of Media Relations, was a presenter
at the 2005 Jesuit Advancement Administrators (JAA) Conference last week
at St. Louis University. Over 275 people, representing all 28 Jesuit colleges
and universities discussed university advancement issues and trends facing
institutions today.
During the upcoming year, Michael Whitty, professor of Business Administration, will travel to London with UDM’s MBA students. He will also teach as a visiting professor at University of San Francisco and Seattle University. Whitty was recently appointed National Chancellor of the International Association of Educators for World Peace, which will host a meeting on Peace and Global Justice at USF in August.
