Campus Kitchen Bite-Size Grant Info Session

Description: Are you an innovator who wants to support food justice in the city of Detroit? Consider applying for Campus Kitchen’s bite-size grant competition. The Campus Kitchen at the University of Detroit Mercy is looking to launch a new, collaborative, student-led program that supports our mission and we want to hear your ideas! We are offering $350 to the winning proposal to launch their new Campus Kitchen project in the 2019-2020 school year. We are holding two information sessions for interested students to offer helpful tips about the application process and judging criteria. All Detroit Mercy students are invited to submit proposals as individuals or as a team. Proposals will be anonymized and judged by a neutral team of University and food system stakeholders. Finalists will be invited to give their project pitches to a live team of judges and Campus Kitchen supporters in March 2019. Application Deadline: November 19, 2019 Finalists announced: January 7, 2019 Guidelines: All Detroit Mercy students who will be enrolled in the 2019-2020 school year are eligible. Proposals may be submitted as individuals or teams. Students may submit more than one proposal for different projects. Projects will be judged on creativity and feasibility. Projects must support Campus Kitchen’s Mission and Vision You must have a partner organization for this project. If it’s a community engagement event, get a community organization on-board. If it’s a campus event, get a campus organization or office on-board.
