"Fruit of the Reed Pen: Arabic/Islamic Calligraphy" lecture by Dr. Nihad Dukhan

Description: Dr. Nihad Dukhan, whose exhibit of calligraphy is being shown in the McNichols library up to Oct. 27, will give a talk on Arabic/Islamic calligraphy, explaining how calligraphy is done, and the historical and cultural context of the practices of Arabic calligraphy, from its beginnings to contemporary times.
