5:00pm [5:00pm] TWC Workshop: Writing Intros & Conclusions
Description:
The Writing Center is hosting a TWC Workshop on Writing Introduction & Conclusion Paragraphs. It will be on Wednesday 10/17 from 5-5:45pm in Briggs 129, and will be facilitated by TWC's Professional Writing Consultant, Mr. Stuart Tucker. In this TWC Workshop, students will learn some best practices for crafting effective introduction and conclusion paragraphs. What do you need to bring? Your existing, working drafts of essays, AND/OR past essays you want to use to give perspective on improvements that could be made. Also bring any assignment sheets/rubrics and course materials necessary to help establish assignment expectations as they relate to how to create these paragraphs in the most effective ways. This TWC Workshop will be held in Briggs 129, and proof of attendance will be given at the end in case extra credit is offered for attendance. Pre-registration is necessary as space is limited to the first 10 students who sign up. To register, visit our office in BRIGGS 131 or call us at 313-993-1022. For more info about The Writing Center, visit our website or book an appointment with us on our schedule. We offer FREE one-on-one writing consultations five days a week, and we are staffed by peer and professional writing consultants from across the disciplines at Detroit Mercy. We can help you in any class on topics such as reading, writing, researching, critical thinking, and grammar and punctuation; we also offer ESL-related language assistance. If you're unsure if we can help, come in and we'll show you we can!
