Description:
Dr. Roy E. Finkenbine, Professor of History, will talk about the civil rights career of Robert W. Saunders, who was a student at the University of Detroit Law School before becoming one the leading Florida voices in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s. This Constitution Day talk is co-sponsored by the Black Abolitionist Archive and the University Libraries. All are welcome.

Description:
Join us as we deliver fresh produce to senior citizens on Princeton Street in the Martin Park neighborhood, in partnership with the Princeton Street Block Club. First-time volunteers are required to complete a volunteer orientation with staff coordinator Clara Gamalski before their shift begins. Follow this link to schedule an orientation. Transportation is provided to this off-campus service event. Meet in front of the Fitness Center.

[7:00pm] Midnight Bike Ride
Description:
Detroit Mercy students will begin in Parking Lot “A,” north of Reno Hall on the McNichols Campus. Before the night is over, the 20-mile round trip excursion. The Bike tour includes rest stops to point out places of interest and a hot dog break at Detroit’s famous Lafayette Coney Island. The cyclists should return to campus around 12 a.m. on Saturday. Currently only registered Detroit Mercy students can participate for FREE. Does not include a bike rental or shirt. Students can purchase the limited edition moisture wicking t-shirt for $5.00. Non-UDM students can participate for $25.00, which includes the limited edition moisture wicking t-shirt. On-site registration begins promptly at 7:00 p.m. in the Student Union. The event begins at 8 p.m in the Lily B. Kassab Mall. $5 Bike Ride shirt – Students ONLY, $ 5 Bike Rental – Students (Limited Availability), $10 Bike Rental & Shirt.
