  Children's Book Drive
Description:
Do you have any children books that are gathering dust on your self? Or do you have any children books around your house and not sure what to do with them? Donate them to us! Grounds CoffeeHaus is co-sponsoring a book drive with Hispanic American Student Association (HASA)and Student Social Work Association (SSWA) for Urban Neighborhood Initiatives (UNI) a non-profit community center in South West Detroit. We are collecting books now until October 25. If you are interested in donating any books you can drop them off at Grounds CoffeeHaus (located in the lower level of Student Center) and receive a FREE 12 oz cup of coffee as a Thank you for your support! Please help donate so we can ensure a child goes home with a book. Any questions feel free to email Tracy Gallardo at gallartr@udmercy.edu

Description:
Photographer Paul Dix worked in Nicaragua with Witness for Peace from 1985 to 1990, documenting the impacts of U.S. foreign policy on the citizens of Nicaragua during the Contra War. In 2002, he and Pam Fitzpatrick began returning to Nicaragua, searching for some of those people Dix had photographed. The results of their return include the book, Nicaragua: Surviving the Legacy of U.S. Policy. CLASA programs are free and open to the public.
