[sic], UDM's student arts journal, is looking for submissions for the 2012-13 issue.
Do you write? Make or take pictures? Want to be published? Then submit your poems, short stories, personal essays, academic essays, photographs, and other visual art work to [sic]. We want to see your stuff!
All written submissions should be emailed to Prof. Rosemary Weatherston at weatherr@udmercy.edu. Please send your submission/s as a single MS Word file attachment (do not send multiple submissions in multiple files) and include your contact information. No individual submission should be more than 10 double-spaced typed pages.
Photographers and other visual artists may submit their images on disc (preferred) or as high-resolution printouts to Prof. Weatherston's mailbox in the CLAE main office, Briggs 122. The original resolution of digital photographs and images must be at *least* 300 dpi. Students who wish to email their visual submissions should contact Prof. Weatherston first to make arrangements for large file transfers. Please be aware that [sic] is a black and white publication; all color images will be reproduced in grayscale. Please be sure to include your contact information with your submission/s.
There is no limit to how many submissions a student may make. Early submissions are encouraged! Copies of previous issues of [sic] are available outside the door of Briggs 227 and online in the Library's special collections (http://research.udmercy.edu/find/special_collections/digital/sic/).

Chaungo Barasa, a water engineer from Kenya, will talk about his long career in humanitarian emergency assistance in Africa and Haiti. He has worked for Doctors without Borders, CARE International-Kenya, and now serves in Haiti with Concern International.
