Thank you for your interest in University of Detroit Mercy. Below you will find some frequently asked questions about the admission process.

• Question: What types of programs does UDM offer?
  
  Answer: We are the most comprehensive, private University in the state offering nearly 100 academic programs like nursing, architecture, engineering, pre-dental, pre-medical, pre-physician assistant, engineering, architectural engineering, and business (just to name a few).
  
  Accelerated 5-year programs enable students to complete a bachelor’s and master’s degree in a growing professional field, such as business (MBA) or cyber security. And our 7-year program in dentistry assures your place in a career-building dental surgery program.
• Question: How much does it cost to apply for admission?
  
  Answer: Applying to UDM is free if you apply online.
• Question: How long does it take for a decision to be made on my application? And when and how will I be notified?
  
  Answer: When all required documents including transcripts and ACT/SAT results your admissions counselor will call you within 24 hours with your decision. You will also receive your admission decision by mail within 2 weeks of receiving all required documents.
• Question: Does UDM offer direct admission?
  
  Answer: Yes, the majority of our undergraduate programs including nursing offer direct admission. Students must meet the minimum GPA & ACT/SAT requirements.
• Question: Does UDM offer scholarships and financial aid?
  
  Answer: Yes! More than 80% of our students receive some form of financial aid including scholarships to help make UDM affordable.
  
  To become eligible for UDM scholarships just apply for admission. Your admissions counselor will discuss your scholarship when an admission decision is made. For additional financial aid, file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov. Be sure to list UDM (002323).
• Question: What kind of scholarship am I eligible for?
  
  Answer: Get an estimate on the scholarship you can expect to receive from UDM. Based on your GPA and ACT or SAT score, our scholarship estimator is a quick and convenient tool to find out the minimum amount you can expect to receive if you apply for admission.
• Question: Can I visit campus during the summer?
  
  Answer: Yes, we welcome visitors year round. Visiting campus is an important step in the college selection process. Students need to see and hear, in person, about the opportunities a school has to offer.
  
  During a campus visit students will meet with a representative from the area they are interested in studying to learn about the curriculum, tour campus with a UDM student, and talk with an admissions counselor about admission & scholarships. • Questions: How and when do I register for classes?
  
  Answer: Freshmen participate in a two-day orientation program during which they will meet with their academic advisor to discuss educational and career goals. Then, together, they will plan an appropriate fall class schedule.
