Next Steps for Transfer Students

Congratulations on becoming a Titan! Please take the following steps to complete your enrollment.

Step One: Confirm Your Admission!

Visit your personal admission portal at apply.udmercy.edu/apply to accept your admission to UDM and to receive important information regarding your next steps.

Step Two: File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

We recommend every student file the FAFSA after January 1. By submitting the FAFSA, you become eligible for grants, low interest rate student loans, and work-study. File online at fafsa.ed.gov. Don’t forget to list UDM’s school code 002323 as your first choice.

Step Three: Visit Us!

If you haven’t done so, we encourage you to visit our campus. During your visit, you will have an opportunity to meet with an academic advisor, obtain information scholarships & financial aid, student life, and more! We offer several types of campus visits. To find out which option is best for you, contact your Admissions Counselor at 800-635-5020 or visit our website at udmercy.edu/visit_campus.

Step Four: View Your Financial Aid Package Online

Your UDM financial aid package will outline the different types of aid you are eligible for from the state and federal governments as well as from UDM. Your package will be available online through your TitanConnect* account at tc.udmercy.edu. Your login information will be mailed separately. Once you have reviewed the package, plan to contact your Admissions Counselor to discuss the details of your offer and other financing options including our monthly interest-free payment plan.

*TitanConnect is your online source to conducting most of your University business including viewing your financial aid award, registering for courses, and checking your class grades.

Step Five: Look For Your Transfer Credit Evaluation

Your official transfer credit evaluation will be mailed to you. You can expect it to arrive within 2 weeks of receiving your admission letter. This evaluation will confirm how your previous coursework transferred to UDM. It will also indicate whether placement testing is needed prior to registration with your advisor.

Step Six: Register For Classes

Upon admission, your Admissions Counselor will provide you with the name and contact information for your Academic Advisor. You can then call to make an appointment. During your appointment you will plan your program of study, select courses, and register for classes. You will also have an opportunity to discuss if and how your previous course work will transfer to UDM.

Step Seven: Orientation

Details about orientation will be mailed shortly after your admission. In the meantime, the virtual orientation has been designed to conveniently guide you through programs and services offered to UDM transfer students.  Learn how to obtain a parking pass and student ID, follow a virtual tour of campus, and discover the resources that are available to help you become a successful UDM student.
