SOA works with schools and colleges to develop new Master of Community Development
Beginning
this fall, University of Detroit Mercy students will have the opportunity
to earn a new degree and graduate with the knowledge to lead and serve in
their community.
UDM has developed a new community development program, the first of its kind in the nation, teaching the theory and practice of building sustainable communities. The Master of Community Development (MCD) is a unique, interdisciplinary program, integrating human organizational, physical and economic development into its core curriculum.

Co-op assignment brings students to
Alaska
Five UDM School of Architecture students were recently hired for co-op positions
at the USKH architecture firm in Alaska.
Students awarded for alternative
medicine health care facility design
School of Architecture students received the two top awards from the AIA Chicago
Architecture for Health Professional Interest Area (PIA) student design competition
on November 12, 2004 in Chicago.

Since leaving UDM, New Jersey native Gerard Paul (Gerry) Roach ’93,
’02, has bridged two cultures.
Alumni Council School of Architecture
Career Day 2005
The UDM School of Architecture (SOA) Alumni Council recently held its fourth
annual Career Day on May 14, 2005.
Over the last few years, a number of scholarships have been established to benefit students at the School of Architecture.
