• UDM McAuley School of Nursing student Grace Eisen received one of the 2005 Michigan League for Nursing/Michigan Council of Nursing Education Administrators scholarships on Feb. 3 during the Michigan League for Nursing annual meeting.
   
• A chapter of the Pi Alpha National Honor Society for Physician Assistants was recently formed at UDM. The honor society recognizes significant academic achievement, leadership, research and community/professional service, as well as encourages a high standard of character and conduct among both physician assistant students and graduates.
  
  Student membership in Pi Alpha is an honor bestowed on a student in recognition of scholastic achievement (minimum professional grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale) and demonstrated excellence in research, publishing, community professional service, or leadership activities. PA student Amy Nielsen ’05, was inducted as the first student member for the UDM chapter at Honors Convocation this spring.
