CHP Dean Suzanne Mellon’s healthy “white chili” was selected as the best chili recipe at the Deans Chili Cook-off during Alumni Homecoming 2005.
UDM’s Alumni Homecoming 2005 event, Feb. 26, included several “firsts” for University alumni. Event participants had the opportunity to tour the newly renovated Commerce & Finance building and the new Health Professions facility. In addition, guests participated in the first Deans Chili Cook-off, voting on the best chili recipe from five UDM deans.
While the cook-off festivities took place in the Maureen A. Fay, O.P. Center of the Health Professions facility, CHP students and staff provided tours of the new building, pointing out the latest technology in the Distance Learning Seminar room, the state-of-the-art computer lab, the Simulation classroom and Practice labs. Students from different Health Professions programs welcomed guests, provided demonstrations and answered questions at program display tables.
But alumni and their families gravitated to the south wing for refreshments and to cast their ballots for the best chili. CHP Dean Suzanne Mellon, with her healthy “white chili” recipe, was awarded the winning trophy during half time at the Homecoming basketball game.
