Matt Cullen '83: "Each of us can make a difference."
Speaking
to a capacity crowd for this year's CBA Alumni Week keynote address, Matt
Cullen, general manager of Economic Development and Enterprise Services at
General Motors Corporation, detailed his company's efforts to revitalize Detroit
and make the City more attractive for businesses and investment. Cullen, who
has been with GM since 1979, is also co-chair of the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy
and chairman of the board of the East Riverfront Study Group. Message from the Dean

The joint international MBA program offered by the CBA and Fu Jen Catholic
University in Taiwan is well under way, having been successfully launched
in Fall 2004 with a cohort of 20 students.
Executive MBA cohort reflects on first
year of study
Nearing the end of their first year in UDM's Executive MBA program, cohort
members recently took stock of their experience.
Emil Brolick '69, '72: "Strive
for continuous personal and professional improvement."
Emil Brolick received his B.A. and his M.A., both in Economics, from the University
of Detroit. After receiving his Master’s degree, he took a job at Chrysler
Corporation.
CBA Banquet unites honor societies
CBA's 53rd Annual Honor Society Banquet and Induction Ceremony on April 10
was the first to include all three of the College's honor societies —
Alpha Iota Delta, Beta Alpha Psi, and Beta Gamma Sigma.
Taiwanese government delegation
visits UDM
On April 12, a delegation from the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in
Chicago met with UDM President Gerard L. Stockhausen, S.J., Ph.D., and CBA
Associate Dean Bruce Brorby to discuss further options for future joint programs
with the CBA.
Earth Day arrives early at UDM
As perhaps the earliest celebration in the nation of the 35th anniversary
of Earth Day (April 22), UDM's "Detroit Earthfest," held on April
4, brought more than 30 local and national organizations together with the
UDM community and the public for food, music, fun and social awareness.
Oakland County Executive speaks to
Business and Society class
On May 17, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson spoke to Professor
Mike Whitty’s Business and Society class about his efforts to promote
his county to investors both at home and abroad.
