President’s Inauguration brings week of celebration to UDM
The fall will bring an air of excitement and energy to the University of
Detroit Mercy as it welcomes Rev. Gerard Stockhausen, S.J., Ph.D., as its
new president. A week of inaugural celebration (September 28 - October 1)
has been planned and will culminate in Fr. Stockhausen’s installation
and a grand Inaugural Gala. Look for an invitation in the mail soon for this
exciting event in UDM’s history.
The College of Liberal Arts and Education will share in the festivities with
a reception to showcase Reno Hall. The facility has been extensively renovated
to accommodate its new residents: Psychology, Language & Cultural Training,
Education and Theatre. CLAE alumni are encouraged to visit the McNichols Campus
on Thursday, September 30 at 5 p.m. to see the changes and meet new Dean Charles
Marske. Guests will also have the opportunity to see a number of other enhancements
on the McNichols Campus, including a new College of Health Professions facility
and the completely renovated Commerce & Finance building.
