Changes to master’s re-titling program
This update is to notify those participating in or those who wish to participate in the master’s re-titling program of changes that may affect timely completion of the program.
First, participants must complete the six-credit requirement by the end of Term II 2006 (May 2006). At that time, this program for degree re-titling will end. Participants must have requirements completed by that time or lose this opportunity for the re-titled master’s degree. For those interested in participating in this program, but have not yet begun, now is the time to apply and get started.
To make completion of the requirements more accessible to students, out-of-state and non-metro Detroit students may take graduate courses at other institutions to count toward the six-credit requirement. However, in order to exercise this option, participants must comply with the following requirements:
- The course must be at least three credits, at the graduate level and be pre-approved in advance by Stephen LaGrassa (lagrassj@udmercy.edu), associate dean and director of the master’s program. It need not be an architectural course. Submit a copy of the course description(s) for approval prior to registration. Graduate-level courses are usually 500-level courses or higher. A UDM Schedule of Classes and a Graduate Catalog are available online for reference.
- Upon completion of the work, participants must have a cumulative quality
point average of at least 3.0/B to graduate.
