The College of Business Administration hosted the recent meeting of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) Business Deans. The group shared ideas on joint programs and new initiatives, business ethics, possible joint advertising, enrollment issues, and the new standards for The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
Message from the Dean
This fall marked an increase in total College of Business Administration enrollment led by an increase in graduate enrollment and featuring the largest incoming freshman class in the past 10 years.
Padilla Lounge provides welcoming haven for hardworking students
On Sept. 25, the Padilla Family Student Lounge and Study Area in the
Commerce & Finance Building was dedicated. The new lounge features comfortable furniture, wireless capabilities, and a small kitchen with vending machines. The room is decorated in the same modern palette as the rest of the C & F Building.
Alumni Profile: Joel Gibson ’72, ’76: “Expand your horizons, embrace reality and give of yourself.”
Joel Gibson serves on the Board of Leadership Macomb, Operation ABLE, The Art Center, and is a volunteer consultant to the New Center Community Mental Health Association and the Michigan Chapter of National Association of Human Rights Workers. He is also a professional musician and vocalist and has recorded and performed with many established R&B, pop and jazz artists.
The CBA Student Advisory Board has a new chair; $2,500 scholarship from the Marketing and Sales Executives of Detroit (MSED); CBA students are the recipients of four out of only 35 scholarships awarded nationwide by the Department of Defense (DoD).
