How to support E&S students, eliminate capital gains, and double your dollars before December 31
A primary focus of the College of Engineering and Science is the recruitment of the best and brightest students. The College has structured its curriculum to prepare students not only to become well rounded scholars, but to succeed in any path they may choose. As you may know, U.S. News & World Report recently ranked UDM as one of the “best values” in our category (Midwestern Master’s Comprehensive Universities). A key reason UDM can provide such a strong education at a reasonable cost is because of alumni scholarships.
Generous contributions from alumni and friends of the University of Detroit Mercy strengthen the University’s outstanding scholarship program, renovate academic buildings, and enhance academic programming. All gifts, regardless of their size, help ensure the continuing quality of a UDM education. Private support is crucial to our ability to maintain and enhance the excellent programs that have been part of the University tradition for generations. The increased involvement of such support will also help increase our national ranking and, in turn, help recruit the nation’s best students.
Please consider making a gift this year to the College. Stock gifts are advantageous because they eliminate capital gains tax liability and provide income tax savings. You can also “double the dollars” of your gift if your company matches gifts to the University. If you want to make your gift to the College of Engineering and Science for scholarships or programs, please contact Marc Melamed, director of Development at (313) 993-1510 or firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also make a gift online at www.udmercy.edu/giving.
