Environmental activist and former U.S. Representative David Bonior visited the UDM campus last month to discuss the importance of protecting Michigan’s natural assets in maintaining both our economy and our quality of life.
Bonior emphasized the bi-partisan nature of existing support for protection of Michigan’s environment, but stressed that the Great Lakes and its water table must now also be included in the preservation calculus. “There are many challenges to the city and state when it comes to environment.” Bonior is currently a professor in the College of Urban, Labor and Metropolitan Affairs at Wayne State University.
