Applying for Financial Aid

We recommend filing the FAFSA online and include our school code (002323) to have the results sent to UDM. You should complete the FAFSA by the following dates:
  • Enrolling Fall 2005, Winter 2006, Spring/Summer 2006
    Submit FAFSA after January 1, 2004

Admitted students who submit the FAFSA soon after January 1, 2005 will receive their Scholarship and Financial Aid Award Letter during the month of March 2005.

Need-Based and Non-Need Based Aid

The University offers a variety of scholarships and financial assistance to students. More than $76 million in financial aid is awarded to UDM students annually. Scholarships are also available to students with strong academic credentials, regardless of financial need.

By submitting the Free Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.edu.gov students can become eligible for financial aid from the government:

  • Pell Grant (need based)
  • Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (need based)
  • Michigan Tuition Grant (need based)
  • Carl Perkins Loan (need based)
  • Stafford Loans (need & non-need based)
  • Workstudy (need based)
