EDU 400 Introduction to Education
| Credit Hours | Recitation/Lecture Hours | Studio Hours | Clinical Hours | Lab Hours |
Serves as an introduction to the teaching profession through classroom activities, relevant study and research, and field work. Thirty hours of field experience in elementary or secondary schools is mandatory and forms the core of this course. Students considering teaching gain "first hand" classroom experience to clarify career goals and aspirations. For those already in the field, the course allows time for critical self reflection and focus. Students are introduced to departmental policies, procedures, and personnel as well as the State of Michigan Standards for Teaching.
