The lecture and laboratory practicum is designed to provide students with the basic and current concepts of local anesthetics and pain control and provide for safe and effective administration of local anesthetics. Included is the rationale for pain control, psychological considerations, armamentarium, essential anatomy, physiology and pharmacology of anesthetic agents.
