This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of roles and responsibilities of professional staff when working with students with disabilities and their families and caregivers. Course content will cover procedures for developing, implementing and evaluating instructional accountability for special education students' participation in district and state assessments, relationships between general and special education personnel and programs, roles and responsibilities, interdisciplinary team planning including families, coordinating and training, paraprofessionals and general management responsibilities associated with the instruction of children with disabilities. Emphasis is placed on professional standards of conduct including the requirements of confidentiality. A field experience is integrated in the course and assignments. | 3 | 0 | 0 | | |
