Overview
The Nursing Leadership and Financial Management Certificate Program at the University of Detroit Mercy provides qualified nurses with an opportunity to gain specialty knowledge in important areas including budgeting, financing, human resource management, nursing leadership, and health systems issues that impact nursing. Nurses working in or aspiring to positions in management and other leadership areas will benefit from the knowledge and skills they will gain from this program. Those completing the certificates may choose to go on towards a Masters Degree in Nursing in Health Systems Management.

Admissions Requirements

Admission Criteria

  • 1. A baccalaureate degree in nursing or another field
  • 2. A minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.75.
  • 3. A minimum of 200 hours as a registered nurse in the state of Michigan
  • 4. One letters of professional recommendation with someone in supervisory capacity
  • 5. An autobiographical statement of personal goals and objective
  • 6. An interview with graduate faculty
