Students analyze the theoretical and empirical bases for leadership behavior, management principles, and role performance in the context of advanced clinical nursing practice. Concepts related to vision, strategic thinking, quality management/improvement, collaboration/team-building, empowerment, change, case management, negotiation, diversity, sound fiscal management , political activism, reimbursement and evaluation provide a framework for consideration of issues associated with implementation of the nurse practitioner role.
