NUR 5770 Advanced Pharmacology for the Clinical Nurse Leader and Clinical Nurse Specialist

This course focuses on preparing the graduate nursing student with advanced knowledge in pharmacology as it applies to health prevention along with disease and illness management. Major drug categories will be presented as they relate to the prevention, management and treatment of disease states. The course will assist the student in creating management plans regarding the use of pharmaceutical agents, with respect to drug classes, therapeutic uses, general and adverse side effects, as well as drug interactions. Implications associated with the administration, monitoring, and advanced nursing interventions are incorporated.
