EDU 5810 Multicultural Issues in Education

This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of relationships among race, gender, culture, social class and disability; individual, group and societal responses to differences; anthropological, social and psychological theories about origins of cultural diversity. Students will explore issues related to the overrepresentation of minorities in various special education categories. A field experience is integrated into the course.
