Brigid Johnson, RSM [Email]
Instructor of Mathematics, teaches basic developmental mathematics, and math analysis, and tutors in UAAS. She received a B.A. from Mercy College of Detroit, a M.A.T.M. from the University of Detroit, and a M.A. from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Johnson worked in Campus Ministry at Mercy College from 1977-1990, and also served as adjunct professor of mathematics and religious studies. She currently studies the pedagogy of math teaching/learning and alternative, more effective, ways of teaching math to those with extreme math phobia. She joined the University in 1977.

Michael G Jenkins [Email]
Professor and Chair of Mechanical Engineering, teaches mechanics of materials, materials, machine element analysis/design, manufacturing processes and engineering measurements. His research interests include characterization of and design with brittle materials (e.g. ceramics for heat engines and fuel cells); development of national and international standards and codes; modeling of thermomechanical behavior, and damage of materials. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Washington-Seattle; a M.S.M.E. from Purdue University and a B.S.M.E. from Marquette University. Previously he was on the faculty at the University of Washington. He has also worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the University of Tokyo and PACCAR Technical Center. Jenkins is a Fellow of ASTM. He joined the University in 2003.
