Institutional Review Board
The University of Detroit Mercy through its Institutional Review Board complies with thehttp://www.udmercy.edu/ospra/irb_procedures.htm Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations as set forth in the Code of Federal Regulations codified at 45 CFR 46; 21 CFR 50; and 21 CFR 56. These regulations pertain to the protection of human research subjects participating in research projects conducted by the University of Detroit Mercy community of faculty, students, and administrators. The University is guided by the ethical principles regarding all research involving humans as subjects as set forth in the report of the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research entitled Ethical Principles and Guidelines for the Protection of Human Subjects of Research (the 'Belmont Report'). The charge to this committee, and its contribution to the life of the University, is to assure that the above identified ethical principles and regulations are complied with.
