I chose UDM because: | | I liked the idea of a small school where I would be known by more than just a student number. At UDM, every professor knows your first name and last. They encourage you to think independently but are not afraid to help if you ask for it. |
Best Advice to give prospective college students: | | Don't just look at the classes but at the whole experience. You will truly miss out if you don't get involved in clubs and organizations. Greek life is amazing! The friends you make here will last forever! |
My biggest college surprise was: | | The biggest surprise was the departure from the cliquish nature of high school. I've always heard that people wouldn't be much more mature in college than they were in high school. I found something totally different. I found a group of people who know when it's time for business and when it's time to have fun. |
Career Goal: | | I would love to teach high school chemistry. But I also love to learn and would like to continue on to graduate school one day for physics. |

Name one great thing about UDM: | | UDM has great diversity. I have become close friends with students and faculty members here who are of Western-European descent, like myself, Asian, Hispanic, Middle Eastern descent; pretty much from cultures from every corner of the world. Worldly and/or cultural conflicts can be discussed with an open mind from all parties. We introduce each other to new traditions, foods, and cultural activities all the time. We exercise mutual respect for each other's religious and cultural holidays, i.e. I wish a Happy Chanukah and receive a Merry Christmas. |
