Inaugural Gala: The weeklong Inauguration celebration ended with a festive gathering of UDM alumni, students and friends at the Detroit Opera House on Friday, October 1.
Celebrate Spirit!: Installation Ceremony and Liturgy: President Stockhausen was installed as President of UDM in a special ceremony in Calihan Hall on Friday, Octobe 1. Following the installation was the Mass of the Holy Spirit. His Eminence Adam Cardinal Maida presided.
“The Catholic University of the 21st Century: The Influence of Location on Mission”: On Thursday, September 30, Rev. Paul Locatelli, S.J., President of Santa Clara University, explored the implications of UDM’s commitment to “an urban and regional moral ecology.”
Following the symposium were dedications and open houses on the McNichols Campus.
| Leadership and Service in the Community: On Wednesday, September 29, UDM faculty and staff celebrated the Inaugural theme, "Leadership and Service in Our Community," by volunteering an afternoon of service to community organizations. | |

Ruben Studdard Concert and Titan Idol Contest: A concert by former American Idol star Ruben Studdard kicked off the weeklong Inauguration celebration. President Stockhausen also jammed on stage - his band of Jesuits were the opening act. The evening of entertainment also featured performances by three student finalists in the Titan Idol contest. |
