Inaugurating a new President provides the University with an opportunity to celebrate its heritage and reaffirm its mission to its many constituents: students, faculty & staff, community, civic, business, educational and political leaders, as well as alumni. Activities that touch all of these audiences will be staged throughout the year, with the formal events taking place between September 27 and October 1, 2004. We should embrace the opportunity to herald UDM’s mission and accomplishments and to position the University for its future under new leadership.

	Leadership and Service in Our Community To help the University live the Inauguration theme, "Leadership and Service in Our Community," during the upcoming academic year, full-time and full-time modified employees will have the special opportunity to use up to four hours of paid release time this fiscal year to volunteer their services to a non-profit organization.
