Cass Tech High School hosted Dr. Garibaldi for a school assembly, where more than 500 students, including 40 seniors and 100 juniors attended. He was presented with a school cap and polo shirt by Class President Christopher Carter, fellow student Alexis Hamilton and Cass Business Teacher and UDM Alumnus, Dr. Richard James, who coordinated the visit. Cass Tech Principal Lisa Phillips and Assistant Principal & Director of Counseling Verynda Stroughter met with Dr. Garibaldi.

President Garibaldi joined the Detroit Titans Women's Basketball team as they won the 2013 Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) with a 73-62 victory over the McNeese State Cowgirls on Dick Vitale Court at Calihan Hall.

Dr. Garibaldi joined 300 Chinese students and scholars, the largest international community of UDM for a Chinese New Year party on Saturday, Feb. 16, in the Student Center Ballroom. The event featured great food, performances and games, all celebrating traditional Chinese culture. The Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival, is a most important annual festival for Chinese people, like Christmas is for Americans.

UDM President Antoine Garibaldi participated in the Livernois Revitalization Tour with Mayor Dave Bing, University leadership and key city and community partners. The tour began on UDM's McNichols Campus with a tour of the many renovations happening including the new Fitness Center.
UDM's McNichols Campus was the first stop on the tour, held on August 3, 2012 and featured several major renovation in the area and on the "Avenue of Fashion." Read More

Dr. and Mrs. Garibaldi attended the 2012 North American International Auto Show, held January 9-22 at Detroit's Cobo Center. While there,they were able to meet with Miss Michigan 2012, Kristen Danya. She is a UDM graduating senior, majoring in Business with a marketing concentration.

Dr. Garibaldi recently participated in the "2011 NACUBO Serving the Community Service Project", held at A.J. Ferrell Middle School in Tampa, FL. The project participants helped prepare the school for its debut next fall as the first public girls’ academy in the county.
