Ms. Daniel supervises the day-to-day operations of Detroit Mercy Law’s Financial Aid Office, which includes advising students, prospective students, and alumni about financial aid applications, loans, student employment programs, loan repayment programs, and financial literacy; making and revising financial aid awards; preparing reports for both internal use and outside organizations; working with the McNichols campus Financial Aid Office to determine budgets, policies, procedures, and awarding and refund calendars; initiating consortium agreements for students studying at other universities in the U.S. and abroad; applying federal Satisfactory Academic Progress and Federal (pro rata) refund policies; announcing private scholarship and loan opportunities; helping students resolve issues impacting their financial aid; preparing consumer information for students; providing loan entrance and exit counseling; working with the McNichols campus Registrar's Office to process Veteran’s Benefits certifications; certifying private and international student loans; and generally providing assistance to anyone in need of financial aid information.
Since 1977, Ms. Daniel has served as a financial aid officer/director at or consultant to the University of Detroit (now University of Detroit Mercy), Mercy College of Detroit, Wayne State University, Wayne County Community College, Michigan Career Institute, Jordan College, Highland Park Community College, Sacred Heart Major Seminary, and the Cranbrook Horizons/Upward Bound Program.
Ms. Daniel is a member of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), the Midwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (MASFAA), and the Michigan Student Financial Aid Association (MSFAA).
