Associate Professor of Psychology, teaches graduate courses in psychopathology, theories of psychotherapy, cognitive therapy, and behavioral treatment, and undergraduate courses in history of psychology, and lifespan development. McCown’s research interests involve the examination of well-being and distress in non-traditional populations and the incorporation of technology into graduate teaching.

She is a fellow of the Michigan Psychological Association and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Detroit and a Master of Arts and doctorate from Wayne State University. She joined Detroit Mercy in 1995.
