Biography
Kevin Daimi received a Master of Science in Applied Computation (1980) and a Ph.D. in Computational Optimal Control (1983) from University of Cranfield, England. He has a mixture of academia and industry experience. His industry experience includes working as a Programmer/Systems Analyst at the Central Bank of Iraq (6 years), a Computer Manager at Wrigley's Supermarket, California (3 years), and a Computer Consultant with Computer Software Inc., Michigan (3 years).
Daimi's academic experience includes working as a Visiting Research Officer at the University of Exeter, England (1982-83), an Assistant, Associate and Full Professor of Computer Science at the University of Technology, Baghdad (1983-93), and an Associate and Full Professor of Computer Science with the University of Detroit Mercy (1988-present).
He is a Professor of Computer Science & Software Engineering. He teaches classes in Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Applied Cryptology and Network Security, Bioinformatics, Software Requirements Engineering, Software Architecture, Senior Design Project, and Graduate Design Project. His research interests include Data Mining, Network Security, Bioinformatics, Software Engineering, and Computer Education.
He is a Senior Member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), a Fellow of the British Computer Society (BCS), a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), a member of the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB), and a member of the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR).
