Dozens of young African-American men gathered at University of Detroit Mercy for a weekend of inspiration and support.

Students in grades eight through 12 from across the country came to the McNichols Campus to attend the African-American Youth Male Leadership Summit, hosted by the National Alliance of Black School Educators. While there, they heard from African-American leaders in education, business and other fields designed to enhance leadership and communication skills, and to prepare the students for the process of choosing and enrolling in college.
