Five things you should know about Theatre and Performing Arts

All students, regardless of major, can audition. Or if acting isn't your thing, get involved as crew members.

2. We hire work study students.
Work study students assist in promotion and publicity, costume and scenic construction and box office operations.

3. Improve your public speaking.
Acting classes can improve your speaking abilities and physical comfort level in front of others, valuable skills no matter what your major is.

4. Performance courses are fun!
Performance courses also improve your ability to work collaboratively, which is a sought after skill by employers.

5. Sing your way to course credit.
The University Choir welcomes all who can carry a tune in the shower, and you can even get an hour of credit. University Choir meets just once a week, so it’s not a huge time commitment.
