Fresh produce and artisan crafts come to Market On The Ave

A number of vendors participate in the 2017 Market On The Ave each Saturday across from the Detroit Mercy McNichols campus. Here, a customer speaks with Fiberworks about their products.

Interested in a variety of locally grown produce, sweets, jewelry and gifts right in your backyard? Check out the Market On The Ave in the lot between Florence and Grove across the street from the McNichols Campus of University of Detroit Mercy. 

There will be a tasty variety of food, gifts and other items for everyone to purchase and enjoy! The market features warm, welcoming sellers from our community who have artfully crafted a variety of food items and gifts. 

Market times are from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. There will be six more dates for 2017 as follows:

  • Aug. 26,
  • Sept. 9;
  • Sept. 23;
  • Oct. 14; and
  • Oct. 28.

The Market On The Ave also seeks artists, local farmers, chefs and crafters with an interest in selling their products. Market On The Ave offers vendors an affordable marketplace to build your following and connect with a community of entrepreneurs. Vendors may choose to drop-in or sign for the entire season. This market is part of the Live6 Alliance, a nonprofit planning and development organization whose mission is to enhance quality of life and economic opportunity in Northwest Detroit. Live6 is a one-stop shop for authentic, inclusive neighborhood revitalization with a particular focus on the Livernois and McNichols corridors.
