Students and faculty from University of Detroit Mercy’s School of Dentistry and Clinic will be performing dental exams, cleanings, X-rays, sealants, restorative care, extractions and emergency services at Detroit Mercy’s ACCESS Clinic every Friday. The ACCESS Clinic is located on 6450 Maple Rd. in Dearborn. ACCESS (Arab Community Center for Economic & Social Services) is the largest Arab-American human services nonprofit in America.

Delta Dental Foundation has made a $56,000 grant for the University of Detroit Mercy Dental School and Clinic to establish a four-chair portable clinic within the ACCESS facility in Dearborn.

“Through this grant, Detroit Mercy will be able to reach out to those who may not be able to afford dental care within our community,” said Dr. Mert Aksu, Dean of the Detroit Mercy’s School of Dentistry.

“Securing access to high-quality, affordable dental care can be a real challenge for many low-income families within our community,” said Mona Makki, Director of the ACCESS Community Health and Research Center. “Through our partnership with Detroit Mercy, we aim to ensure that this dental clinic provides affordable healthcare options to all, regardless of their financial circumstances.”

Assistance at the dental Clinic will be provided to help those who are uninsured. To schedule an appointment, call 313-820-1141.
