Detroit Director of Planning and Development to Speak at UDM

UDM's School of Architecture welcomes Director of Planning and Development for the City of Detroit Maurice Cox to speak on Wednesday, March 23 at 5 p.m. There will be a reception at 5 p.m., followed by the lecture at 6 p.m. and will take place in the Genevieve Fisk Loranger Architecture Center in the Warren Loranger Architecture Building on the McNichols Campus.

Maurice CoxCox is a nationally respected community designer and leader of the public interest design movement. He is a co-founder of the national SEED (Social, Economic, Environmental, Design) Network, a movement dedicated to building and supporting a culture of civic responsibility and engagement in the built environment and the public realm. Fast Company magazine named Cox one of America’s “20 Masters of Design” in 2004 for his practice of democratic design.
