For the 15th consecutive year, University of Detroit Mercy is listed in the top tier of Midwest Best Regional Universities in the 2016 edition of the U.S.News & World Report's "Best Colleges." In addition to the University's ranking of #23 in the magazine’s annual list of regional universities, UDM was also named one of the "Best Colleges for Veterans" and "A+ Schools for B students."

US News logo"These national rankings reaffirm University of Detroit Mercy’s quality academic programs, outstanding students, and dedicated faculty and staff," said University of Detroit Mercy President Antoine M. Garibaldi, Ph.D. "UDM’s significant freshman class increase this fall is due to recognitions like these and the priority we place on academic excellence," he added.

Some of the factors that contributed to UDM’s high U.S.News ranking included the institution’s positive first-to-second year student retention rate of 81 percent; a favorable student-to-faculty ratio of 11:1; and higher SAT and composite ACT scores of incoming students. Only 113 universities were ranked in the top tier of U.S. News’ Midwest Best Regional Universities.
