UDM recognized as Gold-certified Michigan Veteran-Friendly School

University of Detroit Mercy has been designated a Gold-certified Michigan Veteran-Friendly School by the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency. The Michigan Veteran-Friendly School program is designed to formally recognize academic institutions of higher learning committed to supporting the needs of student veterans and dependents. The program promotes best practices by awarding Gold-, Silver- and Bronze-level status to institutions that offer veteran-centric services and programs.

Gold level certification Criteria for certification include: On-campus veterans coordinator or staffed veterans center, an active student veterans club or association, processes to best identify current student veterans on campus, systems to evaluate and award credit based on prior military training and experience, a well-maintained veterans-specific website, evaluation of student veteran academic retention and the knowledge of student veteran job placement rates post-graduate.
