Cyber Security Programs Support Homeland Security
The Center for Cyber Security and Intelligence Studies exists within the College, comprised of Criminal Justice, Computer and Information Systems, Information Assurance, Intelligence Analysis and Security Administration programs. The Center offers 5 B.A./M.A. degree programs that can be completed in five years of study. Program graduates attract job offers from corporations and government for homeland security work.
Internships Prepare Communication Studies Students
The Communications Studies program consistently places its students in media internships at newspapers, magazines, radio and TV stations around metro Detroit, which is one of the major media outlets in the nation.

The College currently offers four graduate degrees entirely online:
- M.A. in Economics
- M.A. in Financial Economics
- M.S. in Computer Information Systems
- M.S. in Information Assurance
The College also has added new minors in Economics, Financial Economics, Religious Studies and Education.
Teacher Education Program Advances in State Ranking
UDM’s Teacher Education program received a ranking of “Satisfactory” from the State of Michigan this fall.
Student Documentaries Highlight Local Monuments
The Detroit Historical Society has included short documentaries of Belle Isle monuments on its website. The following documentary films were written, produced and directed by UDM students: Brittany Burkhardt—MacArthur Bridge, Francesco Ciccone—Dante statue, Ally Schmidt—Schiller statue, Paige Zmudczynski—James Scott Memorial Fountain and statue, ReShawn Wilder—Newsboy and His Dog Statue, Michelle Renaud—James J. Brady statue, Ally Levise—General Williams statue.
Psychology Students Author Journal Articles
Undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral level students in Psychology have received authorships in a variety of academic journals.
